“That’s Gay” Survey under way!

Students with the GSA are now conducting surveys of their peers at school in order to gather data on how many people use the phrase, “That’s gay,” what they mean by it and whether or not they’re offended by gay/lesbian/bi people. This was one student’s idea and it’s getting put to the test! Yes!

Once the surveys are conducted, the data will be analyzed and then students are going to create little fliers to pass out to their peers saying why it’s not cool to use that phrase.

First Meeting of GSA was a hit!

The Manual Arts GSA is up and running for the 2009-2010 school year!!!
Our first meeting was this past Wednesday, July 8th and we had about 12 people there. There were some great ideas for things to do this year, including a cool idea of writing in journals all week about our experiences and then sharing excerpts on Fridays. That sounds really awesome!
A bunch of people came by on Friday at lunch to hang out too.
This should be a great year for the GSA!
